So I first had a couple of ideas as to what to do for my self directed project but have talked to Graham now and have decided to consentrate on my historical pattern drafting and cutting. I origenally wanted to study historical underwear and under structures so to build up a knoledge of the area as well as build up a supplie of historical understructures that I could use in the future however through my tutorial we came to the conclusion that a better understanding of historical pattern drafting would be more useful to me in the future so I will be studying historical patterns and costumes and making toiles or parts of various costumes. I have also decided to start building up my supplie of historical underwear on the side however this isn't to do with SDP but an extra personal project. I will start my reserch for SDP in a week or so as am currently pretty bogged down by my last project and my placement on Hairspray.
